FATSO

Posted on March 9, 2009October 23, 2015 By Doriano No Comments on FATSO

fatso Fatso (1980) is a hilarious and heart-warming movie written and directed by none other than Anne Bancroft! Yes, Mrs. Robinson from The Graduate! I guess being married to the legendary Mel Brooks so many years rubbed off?

Dom Deluise is brilliant in this humorous look at an Italian man’s battle of the bulge. I loved all of the Italian family jokes because they were so authentic. That all came from Anne’s heritage of course. Despite all the extremely funny moments in the movie, there are many touching scenes and even a beautiful love story. I think it’s a wonderful movie.

Here’s the trailer and a couple of funny scenes

I love the opening of the movie that starts with a funeral. Italians truly behave this way. Yes, food is critical for soothing the pain. It’s also used to celebrate great times as well.
I guess we used every excuse in the book to chow down, huh?

Here’s the scene where his support group doesn’t actually provide any help. It all started with a twist of lemon then escalated to a drop of honey.
