Thief of Hearts

Thief of Hearts (1984) is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. People always smirk or laugh out loud whenever I tell them how much I enjoy this movie and its music. They usually stop when they realize that I’m not pulling their leg or they start laughing even harder…but that’s all right. I don’t care…

Macro-Blogging in a Microwave Society

I coined a new term today called Macro-blogging which I shared in an exchange I had with @ChrisBrogan on twitter. He made a comment about the rather short blog posts he’s been reading so far this year and wondered if it was a new trend. I replied with the following tweet: “@chrisbrogan I noticed the…

Computer Chronicles

The Computer Chronicles TV show was on the air from 1983 to 2002. The host was Stewart Cheifet who later did Net Cafe. Here are some very interesting segments on “NEW” technology that we take for granted today. New age things such as the CD, email and a browser! Here’s the H.P. Touch screen…

music is visual

This is an amazing commercial that’s like a mini-movie at 4 minutes long but so worth the payoff. Totally caught me by surprise too. I always say you shouldn’t fast forward through every commercial because every once in a while there’s a gem like this one (even though this wasn’t even in our country). 🙂

Vulnerable

I just heard this gem from Secondhand Serenade called “Vulnerable” which feels so pure and sincere. I like his voice and its sentiment… how he knows his girl is just as afraid of what they have as he is. Everyone is vulnerable, it’s just that some of us are just better at hiding it. Wonderful…

Stolen

I’ve always liked Dashboard Confessional’s “Stolen”. It’s about having your heart pilfered by someone out of the blue. I like the picture the song paints: Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced, Another sun soaked season fades away “Stolen” We watch the season pull up its own stakes And catch the last weekend…

Total Recall

I’ve always loved science fiction stories and movies and TOTAL RECALL (1990) is one of my favorites of all-time. Even non Sci-Fi fans admit to enjoying this movie because it has such an interesting story behind all the action. Even though the movie is 20 years old now (wow!), many of the technologies from the…

Here’s a list of MY favorites things of 2009. I’ll start with new movies of 2009. These were all films that were released in 2009, not those released in other years and seen in 2009 but actually hit the theaters for the first time this year. Here’s the top box office totals for all 2009…

Happy New Me!

It’s a new year and I’ve decided to simplify my life as much as possible online and offline. I’ve launched this new blog at my own personal domain which will replace the two blogs that I was maintaining: ThePaisano.com and SeizingTheDay.net. Being able to manage ONE blog instead of two will make things much easier…

The Real Rain Man: Kim Peek

Kim Peek passed away recently on 12/19/2009 at the age of 58. He was known as the real rain man, the savant made famous by Dustin Hoffman in the Oscar winning RAIN MAN motion picture. Here’s an excellent documentary about Kim Peek. It’s so moving just how dedicated his dad has been, even into his…
