Vietnam in HD

I just finished watching Vietnam in HD and thought it was one of the best things I’ve ever seen on Vietnam. All of the rare home movie footage was amazing. My favorite segment was this touching reunion of a PoW and his wife. I love when they fast forward to them today…such an adorable old couple!

The Pixar Theory

I thought I created this Pixar theory long ago whenever I would tell my kids that each one of their movies was connected in some way and they would say I was crazy (they’re right BTW). Anyway, now it’s become a full-blown theory with an elobarate timeline and intricate details that even my warped mind…

Prince of Persia

Every once in a while I will watch a movie with little or no expectations whatsoever and then I’ll get blown away by how good it is. Such was the case with “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time“.  I did not expect much at all except for lots of action which it had aplenty…

I finally watched the movie BRAVE with the family on New Year’s Eve and it lived up to all the hype and then some. What a wonderful movie. The graphics and animation were breathtaking and amazing! It all just keeps on getting better and better! Soon we will not be able to tell the difference…

Best of 2012

Here were some of my favorite things of 2012 in movies, music, TV, etc. Movies I still haven’t seen most of the best movies released this year so they won’t make this list (i.e. Les Miserables, Silver Linings Playbook, Cloud Atlas, Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty, etc.). I remember enjoying it and thinking it was funny but I didn’t remember all of the wonderful little nuggets of wisdom in it. For example, I just…

BBS The Documentary

Before the internet as we know it today there was AOL and before AOL there was the BBS, Bulletin Board Systems. I remember connecting to BBSes because my older brother Max used to use them all the time. He showed me how to setup my computer with a dial-up modem (I think 9600 BAUD!) so…

To Kill a Mockingbird

I HIGHLY recommend Hey Boo: Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird which is streaming on Netflix now. It is chock full of joyfulness. It covers everything you ever wanted to know about the classic Pulitzer prize winning book, the movie that earned Gregory Peck his Oscar and the author who has never written another book. I…

Woody Allen

I just watched one of the best documentaries ever. Woody Allen: A Documentary which is streaming right now on NetFlix. I highly recommend it even if you’re not a big Woody Allen fan like I am. It is full of rare exclusive things like footage of his mom, sister and looks at his creative process like how…
