You never know where or when you’ll stumble across something inspirational. In this case for me it was in an innocuous comedy called “BRUCE ALMIGHTY” starring Jim Carrey. I remember enjoying it and thinking it was funny but I didn’t remember all of the wonderful little nuggets of wisdom in it. For example, I just loved the little speech from God (Morgan Freeman):

God: Parting your soup is not a miracle Bruce, it’s a magic trick. A single mom who’s working two jobs, and still finds time to take her son to soccer practice, that’s a miracle. A teenager who says “no” to drugs and “yes” to an education, that’s a miracle. People want me to do everything for them. What they don’t realize is *they* have the power. You want to see a miracle, son? Be the miracle.

Here’s the video clip

In this other scene, Jennifer Anniston plays Bruce’s girlfriend Grace who finally left him after one too many selfish moments. He gets to hear her prayers and finally does something unselfish just for her and decides to honor her prayer which is to stop loving him so she can get over him and move on and stop hurting. He learns what true love is by putting someone else ahead of himself for once. Amazing lesson learned here for us all.
