Some People from 1985 by Belouis Some is an infectiously likable tune. After all these years it still puts a smile on my face. The music video is especially enjoyable. The young dancers and the choreography are splendid as are the older actors in the story. In the video, Belouis portrays some kind of pied piper that brings out the inner child in every adult he encounters. That’s when the brilliant young dancers pop out and do their thing. It’s rather quite touching as you realize that every single adult has this inner child trapped inside. Far too many of us never heed their call and totally lose touch with their childhood dreams. The lyrics go along with this concept very well. What stands out the most for me is “Life was so easy then, a kind of play time. You made it easy then, we had a great time.” We can recapture that magic if we tap into that child within.
