sliding doors

Every tiny little thing we do and every decision we make, no matter how small it might seem, impacts our lives and those around us in some manner. The course is forever changed in some subtle unknown way. Sometimes we will be able to trace back to the decision that lead us to a particular outcome or result, but most of the time we won’t be able to do so.

The movie “Sliding Doors” (1998) starring the lovely Gwyneth Paltrow covers the way our lives can change on a dime with seemingly trivial little things. In this case, the incident that changes the entire course of her life was whether or not she makes the subway train. Her destiny is radically different if she makes the train or if she misses it. I think it’s a brilliant concept for a movie and it really makes you think.
