I love “LEGEND” (1985) directed by Ridley Scott and starring a young Tom Cruise and Mia Sara. It’s a wonderful good versus evil fantasy full of fairies, unicorns and goblins and Tim Curry as the prince of darkness.
There’s an amazing look to this film thanks to Scott and his cinematographer. It’s a feast for the eyes and the senses in this original tale.
There are many memorable moments but one of my favorite scenes if when Jack (Tom Cruise) must make a decision on whether or not to trust in his beloved and demonstrate blind faith and says “I’ll always trust you Lili” It’s a powerful scene.
If you purchase the DVD, be careful not to get the special director’s cut because it is nowhere near as good as the original theatrical release. The original soundtrack featuring Tangerine Dream is extremely integral to the movie’s magic and for whatever reason it was totally replaced!
