Ok, the shock and numbness over the events on 9/11/2001 have started to subside enough to feel the anger and frustration of it all. It bothers me to no end when I think about how incompetent our whole government is, especially the FBI and CIA! They are like stupid kids in high school who belong to their own cliques and don’t realize that they should be working together! We are all americans! We need to help one another.
Speaking of helping one another, I saw something last night that just made my blood boil!
On Fox news’ The O’Reilly Factor, it was revealed that most of the over one billion dollars that Americans have donated to help those affected by the tragedies of 9/11 have NOT been distributed to them yet! Less than 10 percent has been distributed! The only charity organization to send a representative to the show was the United Way! All they keep saying is that they will distributed it all in time, but that’s hogwash! Most of the funds go to executive salaries and wasted and this just bothers me tremendously. On the show were four spouses that are still grieving and pain and they have not even gotten a phone call from any of these relief groups! Not one call! It’s not like there are hundreds of thousands of people to help too!
There are approximately 6,000 families directly affected, not counting the business owners and their families who were also devastated.
What can we do? We need to contact our elected officials and tell them that we are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore! They need to speak up for us on Capitol hill and push them to assign a new position to oversee all the funds generated in the name of relief for the victims of September 11th! We created a new cabinet position called Homeland Security, why not one for all this money? They have a list of all the victims and their families, so there is no excuse for taking this long to distribute these funds!
