It’s a cliche but I must admit that I love this time of year most of all! December is a wonderful time and I relish each and every day as much as possible. I enjoy the cold and all the Christmas decorations and even those overplayed sometimes annoying Christmas songs!
It could be a link to my youth and perhaps it’s a silly little mental game that I play on myself every year, but I don’t care because I am never happier than right now!
Some people complain about the commercialization of the season and how people have forgotten the true reason for the season, but not me! Do I believe in Santa? Nope, but I believe in believing in him! I think he represents the Christmas spirit of giving and not just gifts either. It’s about being kind to your fellow Man. It’s about taking the time to stop and smell the roses and appreciate all of the blessings in your otherwise fast-paced life.
So try to appreciate every little sign of life and love out there. Every little decoration and every smile you encounter is really a monumental thing and a validation of life! Tis true that it is better to give than receive too! Try it sometime.
