THE SPLENDID SOJOURN
Sometimes I mourn the inevitable end of this splendid sojourn we call life
But then I must admire the brilliant gleam of light of the barbarous knife.
None of us will be spared no matter how sweet the ride
None of us can avoid this fate, for we cannot run and hide.
We must embrace the here and now and focus on today
The present moment is the only time we have anyway.
Don’t squander precious time on the future or the past.
Do your best to savour your time and try to make it last.
Instead of living with worry or guilt, try more joy and bliss.
Otherwise you will be filled with regret on all that you miss.
Right now, forgive all those who’ve done you wrong.
This simple act will empower you and make you strong.
Today, decide to let go of the past and revel in the now.
Only positive thoughts are what you need to allow.
Don’t waste another second on things that don’t matter at all.
Cherish the climb and ignore all thoughts of the inevitable fall.
