Facebook
Well, here comes a new social network called the Fridge which is taking a different approach to things. They are focused on letting members create many separate private social networks so they can keep streams isolated from each group. For example, as you can see in its demo video below, you can create a social network just for your family, another for colleagues at work or business associates, another for general friends and yet another for very close friends and so on. You have the option to make anything you share public or private and even private for just one group. Best of all, is the ability to easily delete whatever you want which is quick and easy and instant unlike FaceBook which almost requires a subpoena to dispose of your own stuff!
Will this small startup dingy with the cute concept be able to sink the FaceBook Titanic? It’s doubtful, but it will catch their attention and force them to reconsider things about our choices regarding privacy and security. Yes, FaceBook has implemented some new features that allows members to create different groups but it just doesn’t work as well as the Fridge. Look for that to change as FaceBook likes copy (steal) excellent ideas or acquire them (see FriendFeed).
