I heard the song “How Beautiful” by Twila Paris at my best friend’s wedding this past weekend. John is a very holy man and I was moved tremendously throughout the entire wedding ceremony because I was there when my friend was down and out after having his heart broken by not one but two women over the years. He was devastated but I kept his spirits high, relying on my experiences (cough cough) and of course the holy Word. He stuck it out and delved deeper into his faith and did not pull away from the church but got ever closer! He started teaching young people in Sunday school and went to many more church based activities and guess what happened? The Lord led John to his soulmate, Audrey! She too was a very passionate and sensitive believer and they found each other merely by following the Lord. They never gave up hope and always trusted in God.
Anyway, just before they were pronounced husband and wife, they played this inspirational song..
Here are the words.
How Beautiful
How Beautiful the hands that served
The Wine and the Bread and the sons of the earth
How beautiful the feet that walked
The long dusty road and the hill to the cross
How Beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
How Beautiful the heart that bled
That took all my sins and bore it instead
How beautiful the tender eyes
That choose to forgive and never despise
How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
And as He lay down His life
We offer this sacrifice
That we will live just as He died
Willing to pay the price
Willing to pay the price
How Beautiful the radiant bride
Who waits for her Groom with His light in her eyes
How Beautiful when humble hearts give
The fruit of pure love so that others may live
How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
How beautiful the feet that bring
The sound of good news and the love of the King
How Beautiful the hands that serve
The wine and the bread and the sons of the Earth
How Beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
