It’s a wonderful life and A Christmas Carol (1951 version with Alystar Simms).
I love these two stories because of the message in them. The core of the story involves loving your fellow Man and appreciating God’s greatest gift…LIFE!
This year, I’ve vowed to commit myself to living life even more to the fullest each and every day and every moment…as much as possible, anyway. There are always going to be ups and downs in life, but we can all do a better job when it comes to enjoying and appreciating life more.
For me, the best examples of this love of life is presented in the two main characters in the above mentioned movies:
George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life…at the end of the movie when he realizes he is alive again and has another chance at life.
He runs thru the town screaming with joy! He even shouts, “Merry Christmas, Mr. Potter!” to his arch nemesis!
The other example is Ebenezer Scrooge in a Christmas Carol when he wakes up and realizes that he was alive again and filled with the Christmas Spirit for the first time in his life! He shouts and dances and shocks everyone by being so happy and giving everyone gifts! It really is a beautiful series of events in that movie.
I love both of those movies because it shows us how wonderful life can be….if only we use our hearts and our minds.
To quote Tiny Tim, “God bless us, everyone!”
