Here’s a quick and easy way to go to any folder from your windows explorer at a DOS command prompt (CMD). Just followthese instructions here to add a new menu option called Command Prompt that you will see whenever you right-click on any folder in windows explorer.
Your other option is to download this registry key that I’ve created for you and simply double-click it to add it to your computer. I used c:\windows as the location of your windows folder but it might have to be changed if your folder is called something else such as c:\winnt but that is highly unlikely.
What a powerful song “Not Meant To Be” is. It’s not just a good song to hear but the message is so right on the money. We’ve all been in the kind of relationship this story tells… It’s such a helpless feeling when you realize that no matter what you do, your relationship just isn’t going to make it. Still, you try and keep the faith and hope things will go back to the way they used to be.
Excellent video too. Check it out below along with the lyrics that are so perfect.
Theory Of A Deadman – Not Meant To Be lyrics
It's never enough to say I'm sorry
It's never enough to say I care
But I'm caught between what you
Wanted from me, and knowing
If I give that to ya
I might just disappear.
Nobody wins when everyone's losing
Oh, it's like
One step forward and two steps back
No matter what I do you're always mad
And I can't change your mind,
Oh, it's like
Trying to turn around on a one way street
I can't give you what you want
And it's killing me and I, I'm starting to see
Maybe we're not meant to be
It's never enough to say I love you
No, it's never enough to say I try
It's hard to believe that's there's
No way out for you and me
And it seems to be,
The story of our life
Nobody wins when everyone's losing
It's like one step forward and two steps back
No matter what I do you're always mad
And I can't change your mind, oh
It's like trying to turn around on a
One way street. I can't give
You what you want and it's killing me
And I, I'm starting to see
That maybe we're not meant to be
There's still time to turn this around
Should we be building this up
Instead of tearing it down
But I keep thinking
Maybe it's too late.
It's like one step forward
And two steps back,
No matter what I do
You're always mad
And I, can't change your mind, oh
It's like tryin to turn around
On a one way street
I can't give you what you want
And it's killing me and I,
I finally see,
Baby that we're not meant to be
It's like one step forward,
And two steps back,
No matter what I do
You're always mad,
And I, Baby I'm sorry to see,
Maybe that we're not meant to be
I’ve always loved this gem from the Indigo Girls from way back in the day. It always makes me smile and feel inspired. How can you not love a song that mentions Rasputin and philosophy? Great lyrics with amazing harmonies and beautiful melody delivering an important message. What more could you ever ask from a classic song?
I’m trying to tell you something about my life
Maybe give me insight between black and white
The best thing you’ve ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously, it’s only life after all
Well darkness has a hunger that’s insatiable
And lightness has a call that’s hard to hear
I wrap my fear around me like a blanket
I sailed my ship of safety till I sank it, I’m crawling on your shore.
I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountain
There’s more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine.
I went to see the doctor of philosophy
With a poster of Rasputin and a beard down to his knee
He never did marry or see a B-grade movie
He graded my performance, he said he could see through me
I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind, got my paper
And I was free.
I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountain
There’s more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine.
I stopped by the bar at 3 a.m.
To seek solace in a bottle or possibly a friend
I woke up with a headache like my head against a board
Twice as cloudy as I’d been the night before
I went in seeking clarity.
I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountain
There’s more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine.
I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountain
There’s more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine.
We go to the bible, we go through the workout
We read up on revival and we stand up for the lookout
There’s more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in a crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine
Hoppípolla by Sigur Rós is a beautiful work of art. I first heard it today as the soundtrack to an amazing short film by Carlos Lascano called "A Short Love Story in Stop Motion". I did some searching and discovered that the title translates into “My Winter” and the lyrics describe the joys of youth.
Here’s the official music video which is also quite delightful as it depicts a group of elderly people up to no good. They run around doing mischievous pranks which reminds me of Cocoon (1985). It also smacked of one of my favorite Twilight Zones called “Kick the Can” which was about a bunch of old folks in a retirement home who want to be young again.
The music and the message is wonderful. I love when everything comes together in a symbiotic masterpiece of bliss and joy. Please enjoy the original music as well as the amazing work by Carlos in his memorable short film set to this music.
Hoppípolla (My Winter)
Jumpin’ Puddles Smiling Spinning ’round and ’round Holding hands The whole world a blur But you are standing Soaked Completely drenched No rubber boots Running in us Want to erupt from a shell Wind in And outdoor smell of your hair I hit as fast as I could With my nose Hopping into puddles Completely drenched Soaked With no boots on And I get nosebleed But I always get up And I get nosebleed But I always get up
